Minimum Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma
- NC Teaching Credential I and II ( preferred but not required)
- Valid N.C. Early Childhood and CRC ( Criminal Record Check) Qualification Letter

Flexible Substitute Teachers
Profile: We are always in need of caring and flexible substitute teachers to join our community! This position will serve multiple mixed-age classrooms (ages 6 weeks- 6 years). No formal Montessori training is required; however training will be provided during orientation and on-going throughout the school year. This is an on-call position. Hours for this position and days worked vary based on the needs of the school. Substitutes must meet all guidelines as outlined for teachers to meet the required licensing regulations.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferably, previous experience with preschool children
- Current physical examination and negative tuberculin test
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Evidence of emotional maturity and stability
Job Description:
- Fill in any room (infant through school age) whenever needed
- Assume all duties of an Assistant Teacher, including chores and clean up (although the actual position you may be substituting for may be that of Lead Teacher)
- Supervising and participating in play activities
- Preparing supplies and the environment for class activities maintaining an orderly environment for the total group
- Assisting children with self-help activities
- Help with individual children experiencing difficulty in the group
- Assisting with meal and snacks
- Assisting with general care of room as assigned
- To obtain in-service and yearly training requirements
- To have a working knowledge of the North Carolina Child Care rules and regulations
- Awareness of Montessori philosophy and approach
